EBSCOhost: URLs and IP Address Block Changes

EBSCO Publishing is migrating the domain for EBSCOhost Research databases from epnet.com to ebscohost.com. Therefore, the base URL for accessing the EBSCOhost service will change from http://search.epnet.com/ to http://search.ebscohost.com/.

This change is in effect now, so we encourage all members to make URL changes as soon as possible. A URL redirect for epnet.com will be in place until Summer 2007. Please note that persistent links are within EBSCOhost's service are still reflecting the epnet.com domain at this time; this should update with the summer EBSCOhost product update later this summer. All persistent links can be changed to reflect the new domain.

There is no other change to the syntax of URLs other than the change of domain from epnet to ebscohost.

For our members using proxies for web access, please add the domain ebscohost.com to the DNS exclusion list so pages will not be cached.

EBSCO Publishing is also adding an additional IP address block for their services. This new range is 72.164.152.*. If your organization employs a firewall or other service which requires IP ranges for online database providers, please make sure that this range is added promptly.
