Nationwide Internet Safety Night Delivers Powerful Message and Resources to Communities, Families

Oct. 24, 2007 – Columbia, Mo. The Missouri Research & Education Network (MOREnet) hosted Internet Safety Night October 23 to raise awareness of online dangers and crimes and provide resources for keeping families safe online. MOREnet to Host Nationwide Internet Safety Night Oct. 23, 2007, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Oct. 3, 2007 - Columbia, Mo. The Missouri Research & Education Network (MOREnet) is hosting Internet Safety Night to raise awareness of online dangers and crimes, and provide resources for keeping families safe online. Gentry Middle School in Columbia, Mo. will host the national event, and sites from around the country will connect via interactive videoconferencing or pick up the live streaming broadcast online. Internet Safety Night Draws Statewide Crowd, Keeps Awareness Top of Mind for Missourians

April 11, 2007 – Columbia, Mo. The Missouri Research & Education Network (MOREnet) hosted Internet Safety Night April 10th to encourage local communities to help families be safer online. More than 600 people at 50 sites in Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas tuned in to see Lt. FIRST Robotics Competition Highlights

March 27, 2007. MOREnet participated in the Greater Kansas City Regional FIRST Robotics Competition at Hale Arena in Kansas City. Through a partnership with FIRST and funding from the Kauffman Foundation, MOREnet was able to provide live interactive videoconferencing from the competition floor and streaming video of the competition. Students on 44 teams from seven states had the opportunity to connect with people in their home communities and keep up to date on all the competition’s matches through the video stream. Learning the Game

Dec. 28, 2006. When some of the Central Missouri State University students in Dr. Bryan Carter's English 1030: Composition II course attended his class during the spring 2006 semester, they did so in the way that students have been attending class for centuries—going to a room in a building and interacting with the instructor face to face. For others, however, attending class required going to the nearest computer keyboard and logging in to what many people would think of as a computer game. Read more...

MOREnet Plans Network Upgrade
