Brady Gallery
The gallery hosts individual artists and juried group exhibitions. Two well-attended exhibits are "Women in the Arts," (with assistance from the Women's Center), and the Annual Black History month exhibit. The gallery is free and open to the public. Fall semester hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday; 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday. Summer semester hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Laws Observatory
The observatory weather permitting offers free public viewing of the heavens through a 16-inch telescope. Hours: 8 to 10 p.m. CST and 9 to 11 p.m. CDT, Friday.
Museum of Anthropology
Since its founding in 1939, the museum has served the research and teaching needs of the University, provided exhibitions and programs for the general public and served as an archaeological curation facility for the State of Missouri. The permanent-exhibition gallery focuses on Native American cultures from across North America, and Missouri history from 11,200 years ago to the present. The Museum is free and open to the public. Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Museum of Art and Archaeology
The Museum's galleries house art and artifacts from six continents and five millennia. A collection of more than 13,000 works representing many periods and cultures from prehistory to the present is supplemented throughout the year by special exhibitions as well as lectures, symposia, gallery talks, film series and educational programs. Free to the public. Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday; 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday; 12 noon to 5 p.m., Saturday through Sunday.
Research Reactor Center
MU's research reactor is a unique, world-class environment for the research, development and production of major advances in nuclear medicine, improving medical and diagnostic tools, cancer research with radiopharmaceuticals and optimal-nutrition-intake screening. Scheduled tours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.
Wilbur R. Enns Entomology Museum
The museum houses 5.75 million insect specimens, including 4.5 million collected from Missouri streams. Other strengths of the museum include Heteroptera (true bugs), Coleoptera (beetles) and Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths). A display area is open most days to the public. Group tours available by appointment. Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday.
