C061: LSTA Technology Funding for Public Libraries

Information will be provided on the various grant opportunities available to public libraries throught he Library Services and Technical Act (LSTA) Grant Program administered by the Missouri State Library. Come see how your library can receive financial support in adding or upgrading equipment, enhancing technology based services and more. Participants will be introduced to grant opportunities that will help to stretch the technology budget.
C062: Next Generation Networking

We will provide an overview of MOREnet’s Next-Generation Network and future connectivity solutions for members. As more bandwidth is needed by members, MOREnet is looking to local and regional fiber-based networks to deliver Ethernet services to member sites. We will discuss some of the connectivity options and technologies being used, as well as what new or enhanced services are possible. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions, discuss issues or bring up ideas for future services they’d like to see. This is a non-technical session.

Learn how you can extend access to video cameras throughout your school system to any authorized user, including off campus locations (home, district office, local police and emergency responders.) This presentation will include a live demonstration of the latest Cisco video surveillance system.

I will present an overview about the SANS 504: Hacker Techniques, Exploits and Incident Handling Class. Attendees will learn what to expect when they take the class: SANS 504 will teach you how hackers break into your networks and your computers. The main focus will be how to prevent, detect and respond to these attacks. You will learn how to be methodical and detail oriented in your response. But most importantly, you'll learn to be calm.
C065: What Happened to Microsoft Office 2007?

If you haven't seen the latest version of Microsoft Office, it is a significant departure from previous versions. If you are considering an upgrade or are getting a new computer with the new version of Office on it, you might be in for a surprise! This one-hour demo will compare the new version with previous versions in a "compare and contrast" demonstration of new features as well as answer questions like "Where did the Print button go?" We will look at Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
