Information Age to the Interaction Age
Educators today stand poised on the brink of the next evolutionary shift in the Internet. Dramatic changes in the Web are altering the ways we teach, learn, work, and socialize. New applications are wrapping interactive capabilities around digital information, enabling high-fidelity multi-user interaction and collaboration. Understanding the implications for academia is critical to building successful learning models for the 21st century.

Conference Tracks
HELIX 2008 will follow four tracks:
Administration and Leadership
- Target Audience: VPs of technology, CIOs, senior IT administrators, managers and policymakers. This track will focus on current issues of interest to those at multiple levels in IT leadership and decision making roles.
Security, Networking and Infrastructure
- Target Audience: Network administrators, security specialists, user support analysts, help desk staff, trainers and internal support staff. This track will focus on current trends, best practices and practical solutions for supporting IT users and maintaining secure systems.
Teaching and Learning with Technology
- Target Audience: Faculty, instructional technologists, media/library services staff, continuing and distance education professionals and educational technology support staff. This track will address the issues associated with the evolution of teaching and learning with technology from the perspectives of those who design, deliver and support 21st century instruction.
Web Design and Development*
- Target Audience: Higher education Web development and Web support staff. This track will address the issues associated with designing, implementing and maintaining websites.
*The Web Development track is being sponsored by the Missouri Higher Education Web Professionals (Missouri HighEdWeb).
Exhibitor Fair 2008
The Exhibitor Fair offers the opportunity for attendees to meet with various exhibitors to discuss the latest advances in a variety of technologies to serve campus needs.

Attire
Dress for the conference is business casual. Tie or jacket is not required. Remember that meeting room temperatures and personal comfort ranges vary widely, so we recommend dressing in layers and bringing either a sweater or light jacket in case rooms seem cold.
Social Activities
Golf Outing, Wednesday, April 2 - Beginning at 11 a.m. on Tan-Tar-A's Golf Course, this event is another great opportunity for you to network with conference attendees. The fee for the event is $42, which includes 18 holes of golf and a golf cart. This charge is separate from all other registration fees. Your fee can either be charged to your sleeping room upon arrival or you can pay the fee at the course.
Grand Opening Reception, Wednesday, April 2 - After a successful day on the "greens," we'll wrap up the evening from 7-9 p.m. with a Grand Opening Reception, featuring the opening of the Exhibitor Fair and a wine-tasting event with hors d'oeuvres.
