Attendees will learn the simple process of webcasting and the three basic ingredients to planning a webcast: encoders, servers and players. In addition, attendees will learn what equipment and software are needed to produce a professional-quality stream over the Internet, how to set up the encoder, testing the stream and webcast authoring.

St. Louis Community College deployed a new website that integrates all campus locations and provides a user-centric experience targeting many types of visitors and their individual needs. We identified user experiences, new content, navigation, website organization, image and branding, and the look and feel required to successfully provide a sense of uniqueness and connection. Learn about committees and personnel, goals, decisions, branding, best practices and the web content management system and processes the college deployed.
H005: Blackboard: A Comparison of Faculty and Student Perspectives

Gain insights from two surveys regarding the use of Blackboard course management software at St. Louis Community College. One survey was administered to determine how faculty are using Blackboard as a component of their teaching. The second survey provided the students' perspectives on the use of Blackboard in their courses. In both cases data included information regarding training and support as well as its impact on the teaching and learning process. These two surveys were developed by a team of faculty and instructional designers on a college-wide technology committee as part of the ongoing initiative of technology integration at St. Louis Community College.

H008: Interactive Service and Content Management With a Single Sign-On

Learn about the analysis, design and implementation of strategies for content and service management for end-users—specifically, using Kerberos and LDAP for a single sign-on/password concept. This concept will then be applied to providing interactive services and content, such as help desk ticket services, information exchange courses and content and remote service access. We’ll also address basic network management strategies for the above concept.
