E-Rate Funding to Cover Wi-Fi in Funding Year 2015
The FCC and the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced an agreement to partner in delivering schools and libraries the opportunity to save money on wireless access points, routers and the other equipment needed to deploy robust Wi-Fi networks for educational technology. We expect this opportunity to be available for E-Rate applicants in Funding Year 2015 (July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016).

Chris Schneider, the State E-Rate Coordinator from MOREnet, has all the details on how this may impact your local E-Rate funding application and will conduct training web seminars on this topic in the near future. If you are interested in adding Wi-Fi to your facility, we offer a number of wireless services and are ready to assist you as needed. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
HeritageQuest® will be Funded for FY15
In late June, when the Governor announced the full withhold of the REAL Appropriation, we set out to determine what we could do to help lessen the impact this withhold would have on the online resources available to all Full and Basic Service MOREnet Members.
Our public libraries have expressed how valuable the HeritageQuest database is to their patrons and we know it is becoming quite popular with schools, thus we are pleased to announce its renewal for FY15.
HeritageQuest is a comprehensive database of American genealogical sources—rich in unique primary sources, local and family histories and finding aids. It delivers an essential collection of genealogical and historical sources—with coverage dating back to the 1700s.

MOREnet Continues to Build our Consortium of Members – Help us Welcome the First new Member of FY15
St. Joseph’s Academy joined MOREnet in July. St. Joseph’s is an all-girls Catholic School in St. Louis and they are very excited to begin utilizing our Online Resources. This makes the 10th Independent Schools of St. Louis (ISSL) member to join the MOREnet consortium. Find out more about one of our newest members.
MOREnet welcomed 28 new members in FY14 including: 24 public and non-public K-12 schools, 3 local governments and 1 affiliate member. In addition, 4 public schools rejoined MOREnet. The first month of FY15 seems to be outpacing FY14 growth. This consortium would not be what it is today without the community of members that continue to support both MOREnet and each other through knowledge and expertise sharing. Thank you!
