EBSCO Publishing has released a free database, GreenFILE, which focuses environmental issues and ecological technologies. Materials included address all manner of human impact to the environment in a variety of disciplines such as agriculture, education, law, health and technology. Topics covered include global climate change, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling and more. This database primarily includes abstracts and indexing for more than 600 scholarly and general interest titles, totaling approximately 384,000 records. GreenFILE includes a small collection of full-text resources, which offer over 4,700 records from the following resources:
- BMC Ecology (1/01 to present)
- Environmental Health Perspectives (1/99 to present) (full text also available in Academic Search Elite)
- Environmental Health: A Global Access Science Source (1/02 to present)
GreenFILE can be searched at http://www.greeninfoonline.com/. We have not added this database in all default profiles due to its relatively small amount of unique full-text resources. However, GreenFILE can be added to your organization’s EBSCOhost profiles and included in your default EBSCOhost searches upon your request to MOREnet Technical Support (email@example.com).
