Exciting, No Cost, Opportunity to Better Equip your Staff in Cyber Security Awareness
MOREnet knows through working with members each day in the realm of network security, that sometimes our weakest link in the fight against cyber vulnerabilities is the human itself.
Through our partnership with REN-ISAC and SANS*, MOREnet is able to share information about bulk discounts on SANS training. The training is available to all educational institutions and libraries. For full details, go to: http://www.securingthehuman.org/. The current summer purchase window is June 1 – July 30.
In the past, MOREnet was able to make available licenses to help members educate their “humans” and bring about security awareness. This year, MOREnet is pleased to make available 1200 licenses (up to 10 per organization) at no additional cost on a first-come, first serve basis. This is especially useful for member organizations who don’t need the minimum of 1200 licenses, but just need a few.
The MOREnet licenses include “Securing the Human” End User and Phishing Online Training Modules. The training consists of short, high quality video clips that are easily understandable and pertinent to situations that staff may encounter. You can see a list of the modules at http://www.securingthehuman.org/services/demo-training-lab, but you have to sign-up for the service before you have full access.
Below are the terms of the MOREnet offer:
- Must be a MOREnet Member with a Basic or Full Membership Package
- Licenses can only be used by staff
- One license per person
- Limit 10 licenses per organization, while supplies last
- Licenses still available later in the year will be made available to members until they are gone
To take advantage of the MOREnet offer, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and include the first name, last name and email address for each person requiring a license (no more than 10). If you are interested in a larger quantity than 10 for your school, there may be more available at a later date so keep your eye out for additional emails. Organizations needing larger quantities can purchase their own directly from SANS.
These licenses will become available after July 1, 2014, so make certain you “secure” your 10 today! For more information about this opportunity please contact email@example.com.
*The SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network, Security) Institute was established in 1989 as a cooperative research and education organization. Its programs now reach more than 165,000 security professionals around the world.
