MOREnet Announces FY15 Fees

During fiscal year 2013, member tail circuit bandwidth capacity grew by a record 44 percent. Already this year, bandwidth growth is exceeding last year’s for the same period. We are pleased to share that the MOREnet consortium is also growing. This calendar year alone, we have welcomed 24 new members that are enjoying the benefits of MOREnet technical services and the collaborative membership community.

Thanks to the continued growth across all member network connections, for fiscal year 2015 (FY15) we are happy to announce a reduction of the annual Network Connectivity Fee for a fifth consecutive year, as well as a reduction of the Managed Connection Fee. For FY15, connected members will enjoy a Network Connectivity Fee decrease between 3 and 12 percent, while the Managed Connection Fee will be reduced from $1,700 to $1,300 per connection.

Since FY12, we have held our annual Membership Service Package fees flat, for both 1-year and 3-year terms. For FY15, to offset inflationary increases in the cost of providing membership services, annual service package fees will increase between 2 and 4 percent. For those members that maintain both a MOREnet-managed connection and a Membership Service Package, the net result is an overall price reduction for FY15, as compared to FY14’s rates. Members currently in a 1-year service package term may wish to consider moving to a 3-year term. In most cases it will lower your annual fee even with the nominal increase for FY15, and best of all, MOREnet will still only invoice one year at a time.

For our REAL public library members, the Missouri State Library plans to continue its current FY14 subsidy levels into FY15. This is based on an assumption of level-funding of the REAL appropriation in House Bill 12 for FY15.
