MOREnet recently announced the availability and continuing development of new services that leverage the robust statewide network that connects member organizations.

Join Chip Byers, Director of New Initiatives, for a series of six Web seminars as he provides an informational overview of these exciting new services from MOREnet.


An Overview of MOREnet's New NetCentric Services 

Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010 - 2 - 3 p.m.
MOREnet is now offering several new services to members: the Network Storage, Network Backup, Colocation and Virtual Machines services. MOREnet is also researching Virtual Desktops and supporting a virtual online e-learning environment.   We will also begin to explore how these services can be combined to offer comprehensive disaster recovery or off-site data center solutions.

NetCentric Service Web Seminar: MOREnet Network Storage Service Demo

Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 - 2 – 2:30 p.m.

The Network Storage service allows members to store their data in a secure, off-site data facility that connects directly into the core MOREnet network.  This data appears as directly connected network storage.  This service will allow members to increase storage capacity quickly, at a minimum expense.

Join us as Chip Byers, Director of New Initiatives and David Drum, Manager of Systems and Programming provide both an overview and an online demonstration of the Network Storage service.

NetCentric Service Web Seminar: MOREnet Network Backup Service Demo

Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010 - 2 - 3 p.m.

The Network Backup service will allows members to back up mission-critical data to an off-site location.  Members will have access to a hosted backup service located in a secure data facility that connects directly into the core MOREnet network.

NetCentric Service Web Seminar: Colocation Service 

Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010 - 2- 3 p.m.

MOREnet is offering an exciting new service to members - the Colocation service.  Colocation will house member-owned equipment in the UM/MOREnet data center.  Members collocating equipment have access to secure data facilities with rack space, power and connectivity.  This facility has direct access to the MOREnet core network at backbone speeds.  Members can effectively manage their own equipment in a secure, off-site facility.

NetCentric Service Web Seminar: MOREnet Virtual Machines 

Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010 - 2 - 3 p.m.

MOREnet is offering an exciting new service to members - Virtual Machines.  Virtual Machines will provide members the opportunity to operate their own virtual machine in a MOREnet-managed virtual environment.  Members who already operate their own virtual servers will be the first to off-load major CPU cycles or mission critical applications to MOREnet’s virtual environment without having to acquire and collocate equipment.
