MOREnet to Stream Portions of the Missouri Regional Life Sciences Summit
When: March 8-9, 2010
The University of Missouri System is pleased to announce the first-of-its-kind Missouri Regional Life Sciences Summit. Led by the University of Missouri-Columbia and hosted by the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the theme of the summit is Animal to Human Health Collaborations: Partnerships for Innovation.
With the Animal Health Corridor stretching from Manhattan, Kan., to Columbia, Mo., and a huge concentration of basic plant sciences and agricultural development from Columbia to St. Louis, our region is a world leader in applied biosciences and innovation. Designed for the scientific and business communities, the summit will identify innovations that lead to new private sector investments and job creation and those that hold the greatest promise for intellectual property and commercialization. "The goal is to accelerate the movement of new ideas from the lab to the marketplace," says MU Chancellor and Summit Chair Brady J. Deaton. "Our region must emerge as a world leader in bioscience research and job creation; the economy depends on it."
This highly anticipated summit has reached capacity and new registrations are no longer being accepted; however, with MOREnet’s assistance, portions of the summit will be available via live video streaming at no cost. This is an excellent opportunity for students, faculty and library patrons to hear from researchers from a host of prestigious institutions.
Sessions denoted with the icon "webcast" on the general schedule will be available for viewing. This live stream is free and available to the public. No registration is required to view the stream, but network connectivity may limit the number of participants and the stream will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The stream requires Windows Media Player 9 or above.
