MOREnet Training Update

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

The trainers at MOREnet have been busy finding ways to improve your training experience and value for your investment. Here are a few activities we have accomplished or are underway.
MOREnet Smart Room
Thanks to SMART Technology’s donation of equipment and installation donation provided by Steel-Net with assistance from KCAV, MOREnet has set-up a Smart Room. This room is equipped with the latest SMART Board technologies and instruments, including a SMART Board interactive whiteboard with integrated projector, a SMART Response interactive response system, a SMART Document Camera, a SMART Podium interactive pen display and more! We encourage you to come to one of our training sessions and check out the new equipment.
Survey Results
Over the summer, we conducted a survey to see what type of training you need, and we received some good feedback. Thank you to everyone who participated! We found that we already offer many of the topics you requested, and they are free! And now you no longer need to go through a MOREnet contact to sign up for training; faculty and staff can sign up themselves! Some of the classes requested in the survey are on the schedule now and seats are still available. Some classes are online, which was requested by a majority of the respondents because travel and training budgets are tight or even non-existent. We’re also working to bring in some highly technical topics we saw requested, so watch for updates to the schedule. Don’t like the idea of having to keep checking back? You can set up an RSS feed to have the updates delivered to you instead.
MITC Conference
It was all hands on deck for MITC 2009! With the conference theme “Reaching the Digital Age Learner,” MOREnet trainers delivered an astounding 17 hands-on presentations at this valuable conference for educators. Several of the topics were requested in our training survey, including online resources and Web 2.0 technologies. MOREnet Training looks forward to seeing you in our training sessions and at conferences around the state.
