CoSN Small District Technology Leadership Initiative Introduction
MOREnet would like to inform its K-12 Members about The Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) [www.cosn.org] technology leadership initiative for Small School Districts. The initiative is designed to provide CoSN members with resources and information to help them meet the challenges of educational technology implementation within the context of a small or rural school.
CoSN is seeking small and rural school districts to participate in the leadership initiative to network and gain professional development and training. To provide information on the CoSN Small District Technology Leadership Initiative, Project Director, K. David Weidner, Ph.D., will share the initial plans and programs during a brief webcast on 5 May 2009, 11:00AM Local Time (12:00Noon EST).
The objective of this CoSN project is to “develop a set of resources that fits the needs of small school districts, those with student populations of 2,500 or less. The content may prove useful for any district but is particularly focused on the specific needs and challenges of small school districts.” Check out the project’s wiki.
While this CoSN initiative is targeting rural and small school districts, any MOREnet member district is welcome to participate in this informational session.
