Senate Bill 54(2011): Legal and Practical Restrictions on Electronic Communications with Students (repeat)
Senate Bill 54 (2011), also known as the Amy Hestir Student Protection Act, requires districts to adopt an employee-student communication policy by January 1, 2012. Among other requirements, this policy will restrict teachers from giving students access to portions of their personal websites. This program will discuss the legal requirements, best-practices, and difficult questions that districts need to understand prior to adoption of a policy. Susan Goldammer Senior Director, Employment and Labor Relations Missouri School Boards’ Association will be our presenter.
