Becoming an Affiliate

Following is the step-by-step process an organization must follow to apply for Affiliate membership with MOREnet.

You must include two (2) signed copies of the MOREnet Affiliate agreement as part of the application packet. One will be returned to you once the University of Missouri Curators have signed both contracts.

Affiliates include private K-12 schools, non-tax-supported libraries, community information networks, similar non-profit organizations and for-profit organizations that are recognized as higher education institutions by the Missouri Department of Higher Education. Any Affiliate member must not eligible for inclusion in one of the other MOREnet managed Programs.

  1. Organization requests initial packet of membership information from MOREnet.
    1. Affiliate Basic Organization Information
    2. MOREnet Affiliate Agreement (filled out as two original agreements)
    3. Contact Declaration Form
    4. Connection Information Form
  2. Organization should also review:
    1. FY08 Fees.
    2. Internet Connection Support and Videoconferencing Conditions of Use as appropriate.
  3. Organization decides that MOREnet can meet its needs, and submits the completed packet.
  4. MOREnet reviews the information to confirm eligibility and notifies the organization.
  5. MOREnet analyzes the organization's technical requirements to determine a networking solution and cost estimate.
  6. Organization reviews the cost estimate and decides to become an Affiliate.
  7. Organization approves the cost estimate and returns a signed copy to MOREnet.
  8. MOREnet performs a final review of the Affiliate application.
  9. MOREnet gives final approval of the application and completes a service agreement.
  10. MOREnet submits the Affiliate agreement for approval by the University of Missouri.
  11. MOREnet orders the necessary equipment and data circuits for the new Affiliate.

MOREnet services and connections are set up and ready to use approximately eight to twelve weeks after the new member submits the membership agreement and MOREnet receives the organization's approval of the cost estimate.

MOREnet will hold title to the equipment that is purchased and will manage the equipment and purchase maintenance on the organization's behalf.
