The mighty Missouri, nicknamed the “Big Muddy” for its heavy load of silt, is our nation's longest river. It begins at the confluence of the Jefferson, Madison and Gallatin Rivers in Montana and completes its 2,500-mile journey at the Mississippi River just north of St. Louis.

The Missouri River needs help, as environmentalists, city developers, farmers, barge operators, Indian tribes and power companies debate its future.

You will become a specialist with a specific perspective on the use of the river. While exploring different uses of the river, you and other specialists will propose a plan for the fate of the Missouri River.

You will present your plan to experts at the Missouri Department of Conservation at a simulated "Save the Missouri River" conference.
