GPN Update

GPN connectivity to I2 was upgraded to 10G on 11/30/06.

GPN will order a 10G switch to be used in the transition from the Qwest PoP to the Level 3 PoP.

MOREnet will order an OC12 to Level3 for a two year term.

After the transition, MOREnet will connect to GPN via an OC12, KanREN will connect via GigE, UNL via 10G, and National Weather Service via a DS3.  OneNet and BOREAS may also connect to GPN.  Decisions have not been finalized yet.

Tentative Transition Schedule:

• Order switch (2/20/07)
• Order OC12 to Level 3 (Feb ’07)
• Complete Level 3 co-lo agreement (Mar ’07)
• I2 connectivity in production (Apr ’07)
• GPN move to Level 3 completed (May ’07)
• MOREnet connectivity to Level3 (May ’07)
• UNL connectivity to Level3 (May ’07)
• National Weather Service connectivity to Level 3 (~May ’07)
• KanREN connectivity to Level 3 (June/July ’07)
