Member Service Fee

• Customer funded
• Based on student FTE as reported by the Missouri Department of Higher Education
  • 0 to 1,500 FTE: $5,500
  • 1,501 to 5,000 FTE: $7,200
  • 5,000+ FTE: $10,000

Network Connectivity Charge

In addition to the Member Service Fee, all MERC public and independent institutions will be assessed a Network Connectivity Charge based on the institution's total aggregate bandwidth (main campus plus additional sites) in production or on order on Dec. 31, 2007, at a rate of $562 per megabit.

Connection Related Fees

Installation Fees for MERC public 4-year colleges and universities and public 2-year colleges and technical colleges:

• One-time installation fees for additional connection(s) beyond the first connection to degree granting sites is provided by HB3 funding
• One-time installation fees for additional connection(s) beyond the first connection to non-degree granting sites are customer funded as billed by the telephone company.

Installation Fees for MERC independent and proprietary higher education institutions:

• One-time installation fees for initial connection waived
• One-time installation fees for additional connection(s) beyond the first connection are customer funded as billed by the telephone company.

Line Charge for MERC public 4-year colleges and universities and public 2-year colleges and technical colleges:

• Connections to degree granting sites is provided by HB3 funding
• Connections to non-degree granting sites are customer funded as billed by the telephone company.

Line Charge for MERC independent and proprietary higher education institutions:

• Connections are customer funded as billed by the telephone company

Additional Connection Fee for MERC public 4-year colleges and universities and public 2-year colleges and technical colleges:

• Additional connections to degree granting sites are provided by HB3 funding
• Additional connections to non-degree granting sites are customer funded, $1,600 per site
• $400 per peered circuit per year after first peered circuit

Additional Connection Fee for MERC independent and proprietary higher education institutions:

• Customer funded, $1,600 per site per year.

Demarcation moves (change in physical location where the phone companies connection comes in) requested by customer may result in additional charges.

Router Packages

Router models and prices and router maintenance prices vary depending upon application and bandwidth. The CSU and other required components are included in the router package price. Please contact the Higher Education Program Manager for details.

Router Package Prices for MERC public 4-year colleges and universities and public 2-year colleges and technical colleges:

• Router packages to degree granting sites is provided by HB3 funding
• Routers for additional connections to non-degree granting sites are customer funded as billed by the equipment provider.

Router Package Prices for MERC independent and proprietary higher education institutions:

• Router packages are customer funded as billed by the equipment provider.

Router Maintenance Prices for MERC public 4-year colleges and universities and public 2-year colleges and technical colleges:

• Router maintenance to degree granting sites is provided by HB3 funding
• Router maintenance for additional connections to non-degree granting sites are customer funded as billed by the maintenance provider.

Router Maintenance Prices for MERC independent and proprietary higher education institutions:

• Router maintenance is customer funded as billed by the maintenance provider.
