Network Administration Practices through Collaboration: Imagine the Possibilities
Gerry Wethington, CIO
State of Missouri Office of Information Technology
As government continues to address the issues of the tight economy and the need to continue to deliver services to citizens, we must begin to develop a collaborative culture to break down government barriers and be responsive to customer service needs. New strategies are emerging that address how we may begin to adjust government's approach to the application of information technology and the delivery of information and services in a networked environment.
Gerry Wethington serves as Missouri's Chief Information Officer in Governor Bob Holden’s administration. Prior to his appointment as CIO, Gerry had been with the Missouri State Highway Patrol 25 years serving in a number of capacities, most recently as the Director of the Patrol's Information Systems Division. Gerry currently serves as NASCIO's President and also serves as Chair of NASCIO's Enterprise Architecture Committee. Gerry is Missouri’s SEARCH member, a gubernatorial appointment, and serves as the Chairman of SEARCH, the National Consortium for Justice Research and Statistics. Gerry is also the Vice Chair of the Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative, a Federal Advisory Commission, and serves on their Executive Committee.
Gerry has been a speaker at seminars on topics related to e-government, enterprise architecture, infrastructure and standards, criminal justice applications, metrics implementation, productivity, component based development, information exchange and software engineering.
