Bandwidth Management/Quality of Service

About the Service

MOREnet offers a consulting service for Bandwidth Management/Quality of Service to assist MOREnet members to assess their network infrastructure and to implement the equipment, software and procedures necessary to most effectively manage their network traffic. In this way, essential services can be assigned priority access to the network, while bandwidth-intensive activities such as file sharing can be depreciated. Members are responsible for providing bandwidth management equipment at their site, but MOREnet will make recommendations on selecting and using that equipment.

Note: MOREnet only implements Bandwidth Management or Quality of Service for H.323 video and MOBIUS traffic traversing the MOREnet network. For any other application of bandwidth management, MOREnet will only make recommendations.

• Increased knowledge of the nature and behavior of the network's Internet traffic
• Ability to adapt more quickly to future developments
