Glossary
The following definitions were taken from Centra's glossary. They represent a portion of the total glossary that would be of immediate use to MOREnet e-Conferencing service users.

- Application Sharing
- Feature that enables the user to launch, host and share an application with others.
- Assessment Item
- An activity such as a multiple choice question or a drag-and-drop type question that Learners engage in either as part of a Learning Object or an Assessment.
- Author
- A user who adds content to the Centra Knowledge Center and builds and maintains all aspects of the learning experiences.
- Centra Producer
- A desktop editor and production tool that converts recordings into streaming media formats using compression technology.
- Centra Recorder
- Software that captures screen activity for any Centra session or other training session.
- Conference
- Centra Web-based collaborative learning environment for large scale (up to 1000 simultaneous Participants and a Leader) presentations, demonstrations and conferences.
- Content
- A presentation, video, graphic or other Agenda item.
- Content Developer
- Individual who creates the content for a Centra session or manages the Learning Resources, Categories, References and FAQs of the Centra Knowledge Catalog.
- Co-Presenter
- The user who assists the Leader or acts as a guest speaker during a session.
- eMeeting
- Dynamic interaction of live meetings, with integrated audio conferencing, application sharing, PowerPoint slide mark-up and real-time feedback.
- Evaluation
- Agenda item used in Symposium and Conference sessions to measure the level of learning, obtain feedback on effectiveness or to solicit Participant input. Created with Agenda Builder.
- Event
- A scheduled presentation of a Symposium or Conference session.
- Event List
- A list of current sessions and Programs available for public viewing and enrollment.
- Event Manager
- Individual responsible for managing Symposium and Conference session scheduling, registration and the Knowledge Catalog. Can also update eMeeting information.
- Leader
- The individual who leads and manages the activities in a session.
- Meeting
- A scheduled presentation of an eMeeting session.
- Participant
- Individual who attends a session.
- Presenter
- The user who assists the Leader or acts as a guest speaker during a session.
- Publisher
- Individual who prepares learning resources for administration.
- Recorder
- The user who records and publishes a session.
- Recording
- A copy of a session for playback later or to include in an Agenda.
- Resource
- An individual media or file element used within a Learning Object or an Assessment Item. For example, GIF images, BMP images, AU or RA audio files, video files, Microsoft Office files, HTML files, animation files.
- Session
- An instance of a class having a start data and an end date.
- Survey
- A tool that enables the Leader to give a quick one question-at-a-time poll to Participants (applies to Symposium, Conference and eMeeting). A list of questions that examines a Learner's opinions, behavior, etc. on a specific topic (applies to the Centra Knowledge Center).
- Symposium
- Web-based collaborative learning environment that enables globally-dispersed Participants and a Leader to communicate and interact through audio and video conferencing, while sharing applications and viewing dynamic content.
- User
- Any end user of the system. A user can have multiple system roles such as Leader, Participant, Event Manager, Learner, Manager, Administrator, Analyst, Publisher, Author, Instructor and/or System Administrator.
- User Administrator
- A user responsible for adding and maintaining user profiles, group logins, business units, categories, regions and job roles.
- Web Safari
- A tool that enables the user to launch an instance of a Web browser and show webpages.
- Whiteboard
- A tool used with Symposium and eMeeting that enables the user to draw, write text or create shapes in the shared Media Window area of the user interface.
