Technology Plan

Please check the date of your Technology Plan. Certified Technology Plans are required to receive E-rate discounts for services other than Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS). Certification is required every three years, however annual updates are recommended.

  • Plans dated early 1999 calendar year will expire in early 2001.
  • Plans dated early 1999 will need recertification for the start of Year 4 services July 1, 2001.
  • A plan will also need recertification if a Form 486 for Year 3 services (other than POTS) is submitted after early 2001.

Vendors cannot write or approve Technology Plans. However, they can be an excellent resource to answer questions regarding technology and are a potential source of information and assistance.

For Missouri Public Schools

Technology Planning Information (from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education)

Step 1. Draft the Technology Plan: Use the Technology Plan Outline as a resource to ensure that your plan includes all the components required by DESE on the Technology Plan Review form. Sample Plans are available for your review and additional information on criteria for good technology plans is available above from the SLD.

Step 2. Submit to DESE with the Technology Plan Review form attached.
NOTE: After review (and possibly some revisions) you will receive a certification letter. Please retain this letter in your files.

For Missouri Public Libraries

Step 1. Draft the Technology Plan: Use the Technology Plan Review form as a resource to ensure that your plan includes all the components required by the Missouri State Library. Additional information on criteria for good technology plans is available above from the SLD. Samples of good plans are available below for your reference.

Step 2. Submit to the Missouri State Library with the Technology Plan Review form attached.
NOTE: After review, and possibly some revisions, you will receive a certification letter. Please retain this letter in your files.

For Non-Public Schools

The Missouri Council for American Private Education (MoCAPE) reads and approves technology plans for non-public schools in Missouri. To submit technology plans for non-public schools, or for questions, contact:
