Wireless Networking

As a best practice, industry standards recommend that wireless networks authenticate wireless network users. At a minimum, this means identification by the MAC address of the computer accessing the wireless network. Another industry guideline recommends logging activity on the wireless network and retaining the log for 7-10 days to enable the identification of an individual using a particular IP address.
