Install and Configure Netscape Communicator***
***Note: This document is offered for informational
support only. No active technical support or document revisions will be
made after the date noted at the bottom of the document.
Windows 95, 98 and NT
Note: As of September 2000, MOREnet no longer distributes Netscape Communicator to our customers due to licensing issues on encrypted software distribution. Current versions of Netscape Communicator can be downloaded directly from Netscape at: http://www.netscape.com.
Note: Support of users who install to a custom directory location or otherwise deviate from these instructions may be limited. MOREnet documentation is written to support installation and configuration using default directories and layouts as described below. MOREnet Technical Support strongly recommends you follow these directions carefully and accurately.
Note: Although Netscape Communicator contains several components,
only the Web browser, e-mail and Newsreader functions currently are supported
by MOREnet.
Note: Project CONNECT dial-up users are limited to a maximum connection time of ninety (90) minutes per dial-up. It may take more than one session to complete a download of Netscape. Verify that you receive the entire file; Netscape will provide a percent downloaded graph, closing the window when the file completes downloading. If you receive only part of a file, download that file again during your next session. You will be alerted that a copy exists and asked if you wish to replace that file. You must select Yes.

The first choice specifies, to your computer, what program it should use by
default to open HTML and HTML-related documents. If you normally use another Web
browser, it may be a good idea to uncheck this.
-
The second choice will make Netscape's website your home page. Whenever you
start up Netscape, the browser will take you to Netscape's website.
-
The third choice sets Netscape's Netcenter search engine as default if you
click Edit > Search Internet.
If you are unsure about any of these options, leave them checked for now as they
can always be changed later.

Click Next.
-
