Dialing Instructions for a Polycom ViewStation

Checking your equipment

On the back of the ViewStation unit:

  1. Check that your LAN cable is connected to the orange-colored jack.

  2. Turn the power switch on.

  3. Make sure that the green light above the jack is now on.

As the unit continues its boot process, you will see an IP emblem and a gatekeeper emblem at the bottom of the monitor screen. They will turn green and a check mark will appear briefly above the IP emblem. This indicates that you are ready to make a call as soon as the boot process finishes.

Placing a call

  1. From the main calling screen, use the arrow buttons on the Polycom remote control to highlight the Video Call icon, or press the green Call Hang-Up button at the top of the Polycom remote.
  2. Use the numeric keypad on the Polycom remote control to enter the numbers 46986·
  3. Press the call button again.

The unit will dial through the MOREnet infrastructure into the conference you are scheduled to attend. If the call does not complete, you will get an error message.
