Select Start > Settings > Network and Dial-up Connections.

Double-click the Local Area Connection icon to open the Local Area
Connection Status window.

Click the Properties button to open the Local Area Connection Properties
window.

In the upper portion of the Local Area Connection Properties window,
confirm that there is a card name in the greyed out text box under the label "Connect
using"--if there is not one listed, please see your Network Administrator.

Click to highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). If Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP) isn't listed, please see your Network Administrator.

Click the Properties button to open the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Properties window.

If you have not done so already, take a moment to copy down all your current
settings for future reference.

Select Obtain an IP address automatically.
-
Select Obtain DNS server address automatically.
-
Click OK to return to the Local Area Connection Properties window.

Click OK to return to the Network and Dial-up Connections window.
-
Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
-
Double-click the Network icon to open the Network control panel.

In the Network Configuration window, click TCP/IP.
-
Click the Properties button to open the TCP/IP Properties window.

If you have not done so already, take a moment to copy down all your current
settings for future reference.

Select Obtain an IP address automatically.
-
Click the DNS Configuration tab.
-
Click the first IP address in the DNS Server Search Order field, and
click Remove. Repeat this step until all of the IP addresses in this field
have been removed.

Click OK to return to the Network Configuration window.

Save Your Network Configuration:
-
Have the Windows 9x CD in your CD-ROM drive, or your Windows 9x installation
disks available.
-
In the Network Configuration window, click on OK. Windows 9x
will install the drivers you have selected and save your network configuration.
If you are using floppy diskettes, insert or change them as prompted.

When the modifications are completed, Windows 9x will prompt you to restart
your computer.

Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
-
Double-click the Network icon to open the Network control panel.

In the Network Configuration window, click TCP/IP.
-
Click the Properties button to open the TCP/IP Properties window.

If you have not done so already, take a moment to copy down all your current
settings for future reference.

Select Obtain an IP address automatically.

Click the DNS Configuration tab.

Click the first IP address in the DNS Server Search Order field, and

Click OK to return to the Network Configuration window.

Save Your Network Configuration:

In the Local Area Connection Properties window, click on OK.

Unlike Windows 95 and 98, Windows Me will not prompt you to restart your computer.

Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.

Double-click the Network icon to open the Network control panel.

In the Network window, click TCP/IP Protocol.
-
Click the Properties button to open the Microsoft TCP/IP Propertieswindow.

If you have not done so already, take a moment to copy down all your current
settings for future reference.

Select Obtain an IP address from a DHCP server.
-
Click the DNS Configuration tab.
-
Click the first IP address in the DNS Service Search Order field, and
click Remove. Repeat this step until all of the IP addresses in this field
have been removed.

Click OK to return to the Network window.

Save Your Network Configuration:

In the Microsoft TCP/IP Properties window, click OK.

In the Network window, click OK.
-
Select Start > Settings > Network Connections.
-
Double-click the Local Area Connection icon to open the Local Area
Connection Status window.

Click the Properties button to open the Local Area Connection Properties
window.
