This portion of Configuring Windows NT for Direct Connections
is for computers that have never been set up for a Windows NT direct network connection.
If your computer is already configured for a direct connection, skip ahead to
Test Your Connection.

Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel.

Double-click the Network icon to open the Network control panel.

Install TCP/IP Protocol:

In the Network control panel, click the Protocols tab.

Click Add.

In the Select Network Protocol window, click TCP/IP Protocol
> OK.

Configure TCP/IP Properties:

Click to highlight TCP/IP Protocol.

Click the Properties button to open the Microsoft TCP/IP Properties
window.

Select Specifiy an IP address.

Type in the MOREnet assigned IP address for your computer.

Type in the MOREnet assigned netmask for your computer.

Type in your router's default gateway.

Click the DNS tab.

Type in a host name for your computer. Do not leave this field empty.

Leave the Domain entry blank.

Look up
the DNS servers for your area and write them into the blanks below for future
reference.

If this information is not accessible, use 150.199.1.10, 150.199.178.1
and 150.199.101.1.

Click the Add button located beneath the DNS Service Search Order
box.

In the TCP/IP DNS Server window, type in the first DNS Server
and click Add.

Click the Add button located beneath the DNS Service Search Order
box.

In the TCP/IP DNS Server window, type in the second DNS Server
and click Add.

Click the Add button located beneath the DNS Service Search Order
box.

In the TCP/IP DNS Server window, type in the third DNS Server
and click Add.

Save Your Network Configuration:

In the Microsoft TCP/IP Properties window, click OK.

In the Network window, click OK.
Test your connection by running one of your Internet clients (such as
Netscape Navigator). If you are unable to connect, or have questions or problems setting up Windows NT for a direct connection, contact your coordinator or representative.
