The Raspberry Pi is one of the most versatile computing devices available to educate on computer science principles or power innovative project ideas. Because of its open source origins it is as inexpensive as it is adaptable, creative minds are able to do a great deal with a tiny device. Whether the topic is physical computing, using one of many programming languages, or designing one's own game, the Raspberry Pi is the utility knife of the computing world. Come join this session to see how the Raspberry Pi can be used in schools and libraries. The typical Raspberry Pi session is 4-6 hours and attendees have access to a Pi; due to obvious and unfortunate circumstances, we will abbreviate the content to address action items that can be addressed remotely without the actual device. Once travel restrictions open, MOREnet would love to schedule a more extensive training with a more hands-on series of activities. Agenda items: • Introducing the Raspberry Pi • Shopping for a Pi and its parts • Looking at Scratch • Programming with Python • What else can the Pi do?
