Prototyping and Design in Makerspaces

Thursday, July 13, 2017 - 9:00am to 12:00pm
Columbia

With so much focus on the tools involved in Makerspaces, the most critically overlooked processes tend to be the planning, design and prototyping of your projects. Using the “Measure twice, cut once” philosophy of prototyping and design can save your institution time, money and frustration. This session will look at ways to help your Makers use planning tools and ways to design such as brainstorming, storyboards, diagrams of processes, prototyping and more to “think” their designs before they build them. This session is hands on and is expected to be messy!
