Accessing Online Resources From Everywhere

  • Published: Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020

MOREnet’s online resources are an invaluable part of your membership service package. There are tens of thousands of articles, ebooks, newspapers, videos and photos available for your students. However, if you are not set up properly, accessing these items can be somewhat overwhelming. To get started navigate to search.more.net.

Accessing From School

If you have MOREnet as your Internet connection, you will pass through to EBSCO. There is no prompt for a username and the connection is seamless. You will also see the name of your school in the top right corner.

If you are a MOREnet member and you have a different Internet provider, you will be prompted for a username and password when trying to access EBSCO resources. In that event, please have your technical contact send an email to [email protected] to work with the help desk to set up access. Then the connection will be automatic.

Accessing from Home

There are two ways to access online resources from home. Each member has a school-wide username and password assigned. These credentials are used by everyone off campus and is not unique to that person. The usernames are sent to the schools each year. Most likley, your librarian has this. If not, have the librarian send an email to [email protected] ask for the information.

Set up an Account

Once you are able to access the resources easily, you should also sign up for an account for EBSCO. This will allow you to curate and save resources. From the top right corner, choose Sign up and follow the prompts to establish your account. Students should also be able to sign up, so they can save resources as well. This will also allow them to connect from home without any further username or password.

Now you are ready to access these large and valuable resources. If you need training for online resources, send an email to [email protected] to set up a session.
