Chromebook Keyboard Shortcuts for Distance Learning

Since Chromebooks were first introduced in June 2011, they have gained acceptance in a world dominated by Windows and Mac machines. However, Chromebooks' power, price point and Google Apps for Education have combined to make them widely adopted by school districts across the country.

The Chromebook OS is only a little different in appearance and function from the Windows and Apple's OS X. Most of the same features are still available, just hidden behind key combinations.

Here are a few of the most useful keyboard combinations for your Zoom/Meet classes.

Sign out of your Google Account Press Shift + Ctrl + q (twice)
Lock your screen Press Search + L or press Launcher + L
Take a screenshot Press or press Ctrl + Show Windows
Take a partial screenshot Press Alt + Screenshot , then click and drag. Or press Shift + Ctrl + Show windows , then click and drag.
Magnify your whole screen Ctrl + Search + m (or) Ctrl + Launcher + m
Magnify part of your screen Ctrl + Search + d (or) Ctrl + Launcher + d
Dock a window to the left or the right side of your screen Left = Alt + [
Right=Alt + ]
Caps Lock on/off Alt + Search
Make items appear larger and smaller on your screen Larger = Ctrl + Shift and +
