Google Earth for Science

Everyone knows you can use Google Earth for geography, but did you know it is also an amazing resource for science? Using the search engine, you can visit known active volcanoes and see a map and description of known volcanic eruptions for the past 10,000 years. Need a quick activity about nature? Let the kids play the animals sounds quiz. Hint: you will want headphones. If you need to visit a national park, type in the name and Google Earth will take you and your class on a virtual field trip. Watch a live feed of a bald eagle’s nest, or see a presentation about the survival of an area’s keystone species. All this and more awaits your students in Google Earth!

MOREnet also offers training for this resource, either online or in person.

Visit us at our training calendar to see when these are offered, or contact us at training@more.net to schedule a custom training session for your organization.
