Student Data Privacy

Data Privacy Day banner

What are you doing to protect your students’ data? Do you know what type of information is being collected and used by the software companies with which you do business? How can you take measures to be sure you are compliant with federal and state laws regarding the handling and protection of students’ personal information?

MOREnet has formed the Missouri Student Privacy Alliance (MOSPA) as part of the National Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC).

We are committed to assisting our K-12 members with securing the privacy of their students by vetting and obtaining agreements with vendors. All MOREnet members are eligible to use this resource at no additional cost.

Using the MOSPA resources will enable districts to track software and applications they use, as well as those used by other districts. Applying the national student data privacy agreements to these resources will help districts to make sure applications they use are in compliance with these laws and their own local policies.

MOREnet will be hosting a training session for our members on using the MOSPA resources. If you are interested in pursuing a registration for access, you should first review the introductory webinar on our website.

To register for the alliance and be included in the training on Jan. 28 at 2 p.m., go to the Missouri Student Privacy Alliance page, scroll to the bottom and select Click here to join us!
