With the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) the landscape of trust and security needs to be considered. Thus, the development of, yet another technology acronym, TRiSM. Gartner developed AI TRiSM as a framework for AI governance which enables Trust, Risk and Security Management. New forms of management must be developed for AI that are not controlled in conventional methods. AI TRiSM models will ensure trust, security and privacy.

Well, that’s a lot right? What does this mean? Organizations will need to adjust their strategies when using AI. Failures to recognize and control the risks presented by the use of AI could result in inaccurate results, failures and breaches.

Gartner defines 5 pillars of AI TRiSM:

  • Explainability-AI models must provide clear explanations for decisions or predictions
  • ModelOps-Check AI models to ensure they work as intended.
  • Data Anomaly Detection-Processes should be in place to check for changes or inaccuracies in results
  • Adversarial Attack Resistance-This type of attack will use data to disrupt the machine learning algorithms. Detection and remediation of these threats will secure functionality.
  • Data Protection-Policies and procedures would be developed to ensure the privacy and security of the data.

AI will continue to develop and evolve and will prove as a revolutionary adoption in the industry. AI TRiSM will assist with improving capabilities by optimizing the use of AI throughout businesses and attaining better outcomes. AI TRiSM is a solution meant to protect AI.
