October of 2004 launched the initiative to assist people with efforts to stay safer and more secure online. Since then, the campaign has grown in reach, participation and themes. Every October, Cybersercurity Awareness reminds us that everyone is part of the responsibility for privacy and security. We can all do our part and make a difference by following security best practices.
This year’s theme, Secure Our World, aims to fulfill the vision of a secure interconnected world. Four focus areas will be covered throughout the month.
- Use strong passwords and a password manager
- Turn on multifactor authentication
- Recognize and report phishing
- Update software
