MOREnet and CYBER.org partnered for the 2023 Missouri High School Cybersecurity Challenge. DESE provided funding so that districts could compete at no coast as part of the MOREnet / DESE computer science partnership. The initial round was held January 17-19. Students from 50 teams and 22 Missouri school districts solved challenges involving encryption, science, networking, cybersecurity, trivia, programming, history, and open-source intel.

The top scoring teams will be invited to Columbia on February 21, 2023 to compete in the finals as part of the Technical Training Summit. During the finals the students will solve cybersecurity challenges in CYBER.org’s Cyber Range.

CYBER.org provides free curriculum and professional development for K-12 teachers in the US. They have also recently launched their Cyber Range at no cost to K-12 classrooms. CYBER.org is funded by grants from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
