Cybersecurity Awareness Month was first declared in 2004 in an effort to help individuals protect themselves online against threats to technology and data. This year’s theme is See Yourself in Cyber. Everyone is responsible for their online behavior. This effort is led by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA).
This annual campaign will focus on the people aspect of cybersecurity. We’ll discuss four major topics and steps that everyone should take:
- Enable multi-factor authentication
- Use a strong password
- Recognize and report phishing
- Update your software
