Summer Camp: Not Just for Kids!

After a busy and eventful year, we hope this summer will be a time where you can pause to recharge your own batteries.  For those of you who are ready to use the summer months to explore topics that interest you, or that you would like to implement in your classroom, but got pushed to the back burner throughout the year, please plan to join us for our themed summer training weeks! Join us for a single session or a full week of learning as we dive into three different topics.

The courses are hosted at the MOREnet offices in the MOREnet Immersive Learning Lab (The MILL). The MILL provides an innovative, collaborative space for exploration and hands-on learning. Here you can experiment with equipment and learn how it can be incorporated into your classroom or library. 

Computer Science Week

We know it can feel daunting to incorporate computer science requirements into the classroom. The MOREnet training team has created 5 trainings sessions that are jam packed with practical activities to use in your classroom, resources to extend your knowledge and useful computer science teaching techniques. No prior coding knowledge is needed to attend these courses and walk away feeling confident and inspired to sprinkle computer science content into your curriculum. Our trainers will send you home with resources, and are always available to answer questions about the content.

The Computer Science trainings will be offered twice during the summer, the week of June 12-18 and the week of July 17-21.

Maker Camp

Makerspaces aren’t new in the education world, but sometimes it is hard to know how to best utilize them and maximize their learning potential. We’ve created these courses to help show how a few tools can open a world of possibilities for your students. Join us as we explore the following topics:

The Maker Camp courses will also be held twice during the summer. First, throughout the week of June 26 and again throughout the week of July 24.

Adobe Camp

Many schools have access to the Adobe Creative Suite, but don’t have the software knowledge to utilize it in the classroom and direct students on how to use the applications. The potential is truly endless with these tools, and we have crafted these courses to get you started in some of the programs. The following applications will be covered throughout the week. If there is another Adobe application that you would love to learn, please let our training staff know at training@more.net.

*Please note, the Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and InDesign courses require you to bring your own device with the latest version of the application installed*

The Adobe Camp will only be held once during the week of July 10-14.
